Solar SignificanceSun MusicThe Sun has had considerable influence on artists. As it provided a subject for prose and poetry likewise it is significant in the lyrics for songs. However it is not just in the lyrics that its inspiration can be interpreted. The Sun's light has inspired composers to write everything from songs to symphonies. In classical music there is music about its many facets and positions. Where music is used to enhance an image, such as in movies or cartoons, it is not uncommon to find musical pieces which were not written with the sun in mind but have conjured up visions of the rising or setting sun. These pieces are now commonly used to enhance these images. A common example of this is Rossini's William Tell Overture which is commonly used in cartoons as music for sunrise.
